Proved once again that previous records never matters when you are on the ground because Sunrisers Hyderabad calmness overshadowed Gayle Storm. One more thing proved that whether you have big stars on your side but what matters more is your dedication and calmness until the last bowl of the game. Perhaps, these all qualities Sunrisers Hyderabad had as they defeated Royal Challengers Banglore in the nail-biting final match of the Indian Premier League last night.

 Mustifizur Rahman brought good news for the team as he was declared fit for the final saga. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the toss and elected to bowl first. Both the captains were happy as Warner want to bat first and Royal Challenger Banglore’s skipper Virat Kohli want to bowl in the first innings.

Warner and Shikhar Dhawan opened the innings for SRH. Both did a good partnership for the SRH in the final. After the end of the power play, SRH score was 59 without losing any wicket. Then Kohli brought the leading wicket-taker from his side, Yuzvendra Chahal. He has done earlier and this time, too, did not disappoint his captain’s trust. He took the wicket of opener Shikhar Dhawan and got the first breakthrough for his team. But it did not affect Warner who scored his ninth fifty of the season from 24 balls.

Jordan strikes next for RCB and took the wicket of Moises Henriques. The left-handed batsman Yuvraj Singh was the next man in who was playing his first final of IPL. Left-arm pacer Aravind took the wicket of David Warner, the ball gets an edge from Warner’s bat that flies to short third-man. Warner out for 69 runs that came in just in 34 balls.

Yuvraj showed his batting skill in the final and was sending ball outside the boundary rope. Aravind got another wicket and this time Hooda becomes his target. After the early run-out of Naman Ojha, Ben Cutting came in and played magnificently that helped the SRH to reach 208 runs. He scored 39 runs (15 balls) and was not out throughout the last ball of the first innings in which he hit a long six. Yuvraj also batted well in the final and scored 38 runs in 23 balls.

Yuzvendra Chahal was proved an ordinary bowler in the IPL and Chris Jordan took 3 wickets.

RCB gave a befitting reply to SRH score card. Chris Gayle geared up in the final and played brilliant shot all over the ground. Virat Kohli, the leading run-scorer of the IPL, was playing with calm and striking with the runner ball.  Gayle was the first wicket that falls for RCB in this big match and the wicket that brought SRH in the game. He went to the dugout after scoring 76 in 38 balls. Then, Kohli undertook the responsibility to lead the team towards the win. He played a brilliant knock of 54 runs and got out that left the team into the middle. AB de Villiers was on the ground, RCB was praying to God that de Villiers did some magic with his bat again. He has done earlier in the first qualifier. But as he went to the pavilion, hopes were ended. Shane Watson was trying to keep RCB back in the game but couldn’t do so. And at last, RCB were sort of 8 runs and lost the match.

Leading wicket-taker Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most economical bowler for SRH and Ben Cutting was the most successful bowler with 2 wickets.

Everything was going well for the RCB till the Gayle got out. But the wicket of Kohli took RCB away from the game. Ben cutting was awarded for his all-around game scored 39* off 15 balls and also took two wickets for 35 runs.

Virat Kohli got the orange cap for scoring the most runs in any single IPL season 973 runs and new swing sensation Bhuvneshwar Kumar got 23 wickets and bagged purple cap of Indian Premier League 9.

Warner was proved the most successful captain who always led the team from the front with his batting and finished at second place in 848 runs in the list of most run-getters of the season.
